Search engines are the major platforms for obtaining information on the Internet. Google.com is the most popular web site and it was the first web site to achieve one billion monthly unique visitors.

Many people use search engines as a starting point for searching on the Web, making search engines a key link in connecting content providers and users.


Every content provider has to fulfill following two steps for better results in SERPs.

1. Get indexed by search engines.
2. Getting his web page to the top of the final sorted results.

Step-1 is relatively not hard. You just need to tell search engine spider that the new web page exists. You can do this by pointing to the new page from an existing web page that is already indexed. Some search engines also provide an option to suggest a new URL by which they know this page have to index.

Step-2 is the tough and main part. Search engines spend a lot of effort on making their algorithms to find the best way to rank sites. According to Google, there are 200+ factors that determine the rank of a web page in the search results.

In another word Search Engine Optimization is the process to get your web pages rank at the top of the search engine results for keywords of your choice.

Google and other search engines don’t want to show manipulated results, if the results are manipulated, people will start using some other search engine and they obviously don’t want that. For that they regularly update their algorithms of search.

Search Engine Optimization process have two parts On page SEO and Off Page SEO.
